Applicants will be expected
to have graduated high school. A background in Biology and Chemistry
are preferred.
If the applicant does not have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma,
the student must be at least 18 years of age and pass a Superintendent
approved qualifying test (eg. CAAT test).
RECOMMENDED HIGH SCHOOL COURSESRequired for Entrance into the Program:
Group A: College Preparation, or Group B: University Preparation
The following courses are recommended as prerequisites:
- Grade 11 Biology (SB13C) or (SB13U)
- Grade 11 Chemistry (SCH4C) or (SCH3U)
- Grade 11 Health Care (TPA3C)
- Grade 12 Exercise Science (PSE4T)
- Grade 12 Medical Technologies (TPT4C)
Group C: University/College, or Group D: Workplace Preparation
The following courses are recommended as prerequisites:
- Grade 11 Science (SNC3M) or (SNC3E)
- Grade 12 Science (SNC4M)
- D'Arcy Lane Anatomy / Physiology Preparation Course Required

CO-OPERATIVE EDUCATION
Placement within an existing massage therapy practice, human
or equine, will provide valuable experience relating to business,
client relations, assessment and clinical procedures. Suggested
sites in Human Massage Therapy are: chiropractic clinics, physiotherapy
clinics, hospitals, wellness centres, retirement homes, home-based
practices and spas. Suggested sites in Equine Massage Therapy
are: veterinary clinics, care and management stables and training
facilities.
